Behavior Plan

I have high expectations of my students when considering behavior.  I believe that conducting yourself in the proper manner is just as important as the academic learning we do.

In my classroom students each have a paw with his/her name on it located on the fire door.  There are 6 different sections on the door.  Every day students begin with their paw in the white section. Positive actions shown throughout the day cause a paw to move up. On the flip side, negative actions shown will cause the paw to move down.  This chart merely serves as a visual reminder for the students so they can keep track mentally of how they are doing. I keep track of data on my computer.

If there is a MAJOR problem in the classroom, you can be assured you will hear from me (and likely your child as well!).  Minor problems are taken care of within our classroom walls--I like to say "What happens in 2M, stays in 2M."  My biggest message to the kids is that everyone makes mistakes; it's ok.  The most important part, to me, is that they learn from the mistake they made.  I really love to turn mistake instances into learning opportunities!
